Discover how to make this ‘diet’ (I hate that word but we all know what it means!!!) that last ‘diet’ you will EVER go on.
Time after time you start a diet… and truly believe that you are going to stick to it… but then you don’t.
Old habits kick in and you’re back to square one… or usually worse!
But that’s the key to long term success… changing your habits.
Losing weight and staying skinny permanently ONLY comes with a change in lifestlye… which is the combination of all of your habits. If you have unhealthy habits then you are going to have an unhealthy lifestyle and therefore be overweight.
It is also having what I call your ‘Size Team’ working together…
- Team Member Body
- Team Member Mind
- Team Member Emotions
Each team member plays a huge roll in your success and you need to coach all of them so they work together and win in the ‘Weight Loss Super Bowl’
Here are 4 steps to getting your body, mind and emotions ready so this time is the LAST TIME…
4 Steps To Make
This Time The Last Time!
Choose a healthy lifestyle plan – not a fast fad diet
There are so many diets available and it can be confusing choosing the right plan for you… but the moment you choose fast weight loss over healthy eating, you are setting yourself up for failure.
Healthy eating and healthy living are skills, you need to learn how to live this way, commit to learning the skill of health!
Healthy eating and living is about working with the body to allow it to do what it is designed to do… keep you alive for as long as it can.
Choose plans which emphasise healthy eating, disease prevention, nutrition and above all balance and moderation.
Just to get you started right now try and incorporate the following healthy living philosophy’s into your daily diet:
- 5-6 smaller meals per day
- Natural, whole foods
- Good Carbohydrates, Good Protein and Good Fats at every meal
- Avoid additives, preservatives, processed foods, chemicals, GMO foods, artificial sweeteners
- Keep sugar intake under 30 grams per day
As simple as this sounds, it is the basis of a strong weight loss and healthy living plan that can change your life.
Commit to these small changes and I can almost guarantee you that next week you will be writing me an email saying you can’t believe how easy it is (and I challenge you to do this!!!)
Commit to the work and don’t expect the easy way out
It’s so sad that ‘hard work’ is looked down upon these days. We all want the quick fix, the easy pill, but we are not prepared to put in the work to really achieve our goals.
This doesn’t mean that losing weight has to be difficult, but to change your lifestyle it will take a bit of work and commitment.
The moment you stop looking for the easy way out and commit to your health and your future… you already start winning.
Remember: What starts off challenging at the beginning doesn’t stay challenging… it becomes much easier with time as new habits and routines are formed, as your body changes and gives you more energy and your tastes change and your mind and it’s associations change.
Something I say often:
SO agree right now, before you read any further, that your future, your health and happiness deserve a little bit of hard work and commitment… and that working to achieve a goal is SO MUCH more rewarding than 10 quick TEMPORARY pounds of ‘easy’ weight loss.
Change your food associations
Losing weight is a team effort from your body, mind and emotions. If your mind goes into PAIN mode every time you eliminate your favourite foods, then staying on a healthy eating plan is going to be extremely difficult.
You need to change your food associations so that you associate PAIN WITH the foods keeping you fat NOT going without the foods.
I wrote an article recently with the simple technique on how to do this so if you haven’t already done it then click the link at the bottom of this article and change your life!
Work on your self esteem
Your self esteem is your underlying driver for everything you do and especially the results you achieve in all areas of your life.
If you don’t believe you deserve happiness, then you will constantly unconsciously self sabotage yourself so you never get skinny… because you believe that being skinny will make you happy.
Let me let you in one the biggest, most life changing secrets you can learn…
Eating is a symptom of a low self esteem. You are saying I don’t deserve happiness, my body doesn’t deserve health and nourishment, I don’t love and respect my body because I don’t care what I put into it.
One ‘A-ha’ moment I had a while back when I was reading a book on self esteem called ‘Psycho-Cybernetics’ by Dr Maxwell Maltz, was that every time I said I was going to do something that I didn’t follow through on… I was taking away a piece of my self esteem, my self confidence… and that mean’t I was lowering my ability to achieve goals.
The lower your self esteem… the less you can achieve.
My self esteem stopped believing in me because I lied to it so regularly. There is an amazing question to ask yourself that also came out of this book. Every time you set a goal, or say you are going to do something ask yourself:
“What is this going to do to my self esteem?”
The feeling you get, the answer to that question will tell you how really committed you are.
Don’t make promises to yourself that you can’t keep… and this question will determine what you really ARE committed to.
Try it now…
There is a lot to digest here but the overall message is that it is your body, mind and emotions working together that will change your life over time.
Take on small goals that change your body and build your self esteem and reprogram your mind.
