I love smoothies, or Green drinks (not always green!).

They are the ultimate way to get your servings of veggies in, especially at breakfast which is usually the most challenging part of the day.

This ‘Green Pick Me Up’ is the most Supermarket Friendly, delicious, vitamin rich smoothie. It’s a staple in our house at the moment (and if you follow me then you will know that changes a lot!).

Don’t get too caught up on the ingredients. The BEST thing about smoothies is that you can put in the things you like and basically what you have in the fridge AND especially what is in season.

FOR A RAPID PLATE: Have this followed by an organic egg with some avocado on it and you have the perfect start to the day.

Servings Customize Your Recipe:

Servings: person
  • 1 Apple optional
  • 1 Carrot
  • 1/2 Cucumber
  • 2 cups Spinach
  • 1 cm Ginger
  • 1 Lime (or lemon) Peeled
  • 1 cup Water may need more for preferred consistency
  1. Roughly chop Carrot, Cucumber and Apple into large pieces
  2. Throw everything in the blender and switch on until smooth and combined.
  3. You may need to add more water if you prefer a thinner consistency.
  4. TIP: Drink one and store the other in a jar for an afternoon pick me up!
